Bearing Disc Spring
(70)Bearing Disc Springs are specifically designed for use with standard sized ball bearings. Both metric and standard sized bearings have matched springs. These allow a preload for specific bearing applications, limiting play and reducing wear.
These springs when included in an assembly provide the necessary slack take up on shafts & housings. Springs help extend the life of such systems, while eliminating noise and vibration.
bearing-disc-spring.jpgDIN 6796 Conical Washers
(55)DIN6796 conical spring washers are designed as heavy duty bolting spring washers. They are aligned with metric fasteners and ideal for bolted connections, where fasteners risk coming loose due to thermal expansion/contraction or vibration. An example of possible applications is bolted flanges.
We offers parts in a variety of material and finish options as standard parts. The material & finish should match the application and fastener. 316SS is available for the marine, chemical, & other corrosive environments. Stainless Steel (18-8) is available for less corrosive environments. Zinc plated & Black Phosphated steel are also standard options available for more general applications. Spring Washers provide moderate loading for small deflections in applications with very limited axial space. MetricDisc1.jpgMetric Disc Spring Washer
(291)Metric Disc Springs (DIN 2093), or conical disc springs, are similar to Belleville springs, but made to European DIN standards. Disc springs offer a high load in a small space. If you are looking for a part with more travel and similar loads, you may consider a Clover Dome.
Parts are offered in Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel per DIN specification. If you cannot find a part to meet your application’s requirements, please consider our custom engineered & manufactured services.
MetricDisc1.jpgCurved Spring Washer
(77)Precision engineered curved washers are available from in many stock sizes. These washers are made of finely tempered spring steel with some sizes being made of stainless steel. They come deburred and we have had all set removed during manufacture. Curved washers exert relatively light thrust loads and are often used to absorb axial end play. The rate is approximately linear between 10% and 80% of available deflection. Certificate of compliance available upon request - Certificate of chemical analysis available at extra cost.
Finish- Standard finish for high carbon steel is plain finish. Stainless steel is supplied in plain finish. On special order, high carbon steel washers may be mechanically plated, a process which substantially reduces the possibility of hydrogen embrittlement. Recommendations for specific applications will be made on request.
Material - Stainless Steel (Parts with suffix “S”) Commercial - Type 301 per ASTM-A666 (chemical only) & High Carbon Steel Commercial - 1074-1095 per ASTM-A684
curved2.jpgBelleville Spring Washer
(312)Belleville washers, or Belleville springs, are disc springs aligned with Imperial units. If you are seeking a disc spring driven by metric or DIN consider Associated Spring RAYMOND DIN 2093 Disc Springs. Belleville washers offer a high load in a small package. If you are looking for a part with increased travel but similar loads, you may consider a Clover®Dome.
bearing-disc-spring.jpgWave Washer with Overlap
(61)Overlap wave spring washers provide medium loads in a small axial space. This series has ends that overlap, in other words the two ends of the material strip lay on top of each other. This open construction with some overlap allows the ends to move during compression, which if constrained in a bore prevents binding.
Standard parts are available in stainless steel & carbon steel. Common applications for this type of parts is adjacent to smaller bearings, where shaft take up or thermal expansion & contraction accommodation is required. The overlap is advantageous for such applications where the bore is made of softer material than the spring and the material thickness of the spring is relatively small.
overlap_wave.jpgWave Spring Washers
(64)Wave spring washers are normally used in thrust-loading applications for small deflections, particularly where radial space is limited. A typical example is the axial loading of ball bearings. The spring rate is approximately linear between 20% and 80% of available deflection.Certificate of compliance available upon request - Certificate of chemical analysis available at extra cost.
Stainless Steel - Commercial Type 302 & Government AMS 5906 (Chemical only) - Type 302
High Carbon Steel - Commercial 1074-1095– Certified to ASTM-A684 & Commercial 1074– Certified to ASTM-A684
Finish - Washers are carried in stock in plain finish suitable for various types of finishes: either electroplated or mechanically plated (a process which reduces the possibility of hydrogen embrittlement). Please call us for recommendations on special or specific applications.
wave2.jpgWave Washer with Gap
(46)Wave spring washers provide medium loads in a small axial space. This series is split, in other words there is a small gap in the wave circumference. This gap or split allows the ends to move during compression, which if constrained in a bore prevents binding. Common applications for this type of parts is adjacent to ball bearings, where shaft take up or thermal expansion & contraction accommodation is required. The gap or split is advantageous for such applications where the bore is made of softer material than the spring.
wave1-good.jpgClover Dome Spring - Stainless Steel
(43)Clover®Dome springs bring increased travel to disc springs. Traditional Bellevilles and DIN 2093 Disc springs offer very limited travel, but thanks to the Clover®Dome geometry, this series is able to accommodate more deflection in your application. Parts are offered in Stainless Steel 17-7PH per AMS5529 for increased corrosion protection and durability. The set has been removed during the manufacturing process & parts have a plain finish.
Our Engineered Solution Services can provide unique designed Clover®Dome solutions for additional loading profiles & material types. See our Industrial Valve case study for an example of the solutions available.
