Toggle clamps are quick-action hold down clamps used to keep a part from moving. A toggle clamp consists of a handle to operate, a clamping arm to reach the part, linkages to applied force, and a base. Clamping Force will result from the quoted hand force. Clamps with a fixed clamping position have a single clamping force quoted. The holding force describes what the toggle clamp can withstand after being closed without damage to the clamp and without the toggle unlocking due to distortion of the clamp. The hand force describes what force can be applied in frequent operation.
